Hi Barb,
I guess I'm NOT figuring the %fat as they did in the article, but as a
pecentage of the total concentrate. I think this is the way Tom
figures, but since I feed hardly any concentrate, maybe I need to change
my thinking. However, if I add in the hay it will come out like your
equation, I'll need to feed 16 oz. I don't think my horse will want to
"drink" that much oil, or if I use soybeans that will throw the protien
off. Not to mention the price of a pint of oil a day.
I'll refigure it and let you know what my actual overall %fat is.
