Endurance horses sometimes need trainers. With the help of Deb Cooper
my horse, R.O. Grand Sultan+//, three time world champion, Tevis and
Race of Champions winner, and, at time, unstoppable idiot, can now do
endurance races in a halter, an unthinkable idea a year ago. I can
ride Rio bridless up to a fence, pick up the bridle and put it on
while mounted. I can lead Rio by the front leg and back him over
ground poles from the front leg. I can ride him using nothing but a
stick to guide him. At age nineteen, the old horse has learned too
many tricks to name them all. Our relationship has been enhanced and
our communication is clearer, safer and more meaningful than ever,
thanks to what we have learned from Deb.
At the clinics at our ranch I have seen many beginners go from scared
and know-nothing to accomplishing feats they never dreamed of. Over
the past four years of watching Deb train, I personally know numerous
people who are thrilled with the results of Deb's training.
How do you know who is a good trainer? You ask people who have been
in the business for a long time who they recommend. You ask people
who have sent their horses to trainers if they were staisfied with the
results. You go to the barn and talk and watch the trainer. This is
how I know Deb and why I refer people to her. The Henry's have asked
me to think carefully before recommending Deb again. I continue to
recommend her highly.
