Fortunately this is one of the (few?) problems with which I have had no
first hand experience. I believe most of the problems were in fetlocks. I
just did some quick calculations--of the 16 horses from sw Idaho with more
than 3000 career miles, at least 4 have had arthroscopic surgery. Three
Morris horses and one of my own are in the the group of 12 high mileage
horses that have not needed chip surgery.
