Wild Arab /Wkend story

After seemingly weeks of rain, the Sun (what is that?) appeared! We went out
for a training/trail clearing ride. Our friend put her 8 yr. old son on her
mare Kalika for the walk home. (His feet didn't reach the stirrups.) As we
emerged from the woods, several large steers on the far side of the fence
decided to charge! Kalika took off, went a short distance down the hill,
stopped, whirled toward the steers, stiffened up & went "SNORT"! Jesse was
still on! Kalika could have easily continued running down a steep paved
hill/road for home - but didn't. She stood, & let a thankful Mom walk up to
check things out. Then she carried Jesse very quietly home. (This was her
first outing of the season) How's that for another "Crazy Arabian" story?
Having cut cattle as a kid, I turned Jas into the steers, she made the turn
but it was AERIAL! I think I own the first elevated cow pony!
As we cleared the last of the woods, at the top of the hill we watched a huge,
orange, full moon rise over the top of the white, snow covered peaks of the
Cascades! Then, looked to the NW to see the comet streaking across the sky.
A Washington Paradise nite!
