There is possibly a different angle to consider in Truman's question
and the discussion of feeding carbos immediately before a ride and
effects on insulin/blood glucose levels. This is not related to
past discussions of whether or not carbohydrates cause tying-up.
In the interest of avoiding heated public debate and keeping this on a
pleasant and peaceful level, if anyone is interested in reading this
response to Truman, please e-mail me privately and I will forward the
response to you directly. Hopefully, everyone can then draw their own
conclusions and make a relatively informed decision regarding their
individual horse's management based on everyone's different opinions and
observations. Which, of course, is why we're all here, hopefully.
Happy trails,
Susan Evans
