Anecdotal or clinical evidence is just as useful as controlled laboratory
data--perhaps more useful because it becomes available much more quickly. The
problems I have with both kinds of information is that too often ridiculously
incorrect conclusions are drawn from perfectly valid data.

The only time I don't put a lot of stock in anecdotal information is when you
have somebody selling something with a whole lot of stories behind it. It's
better to hear the stories one at a time, from the originators, than to hear
them all collected together.

Anecdotal information is what we call "experience". We do something, there is
a result, we do something else, there is a better result, therefore,
"something else" is better, until more experience proves it otherwise. As
long as nobody gets religious about his or her information, leaving "the
truth" up for grabs, then, I say, chase down every lead you can find.
