I've found similar problems with these things though I've not tried the
SMB 2's. Also have a friend who's POA went lame with another brand of
boot on and came sound when they were removed. I tend only to put them
on for jumping or arena work when some quick twisting turns may be
expected and the time with them on is not expected to be more than a
couple of hours. Sand ingress is also a problem.
