I called their customer service number [(619) 275-1400 no web page] and
talked to someone at the company. They do not recommend using it for
horses as it does contain mineral spirits.

Interesting side bar, I did a search on WD-40 only found two hits one
was a joke site that specialized in "creative" uses of duck tape, WD-40
and some really bad dumb blonde jokes. There were several unique uses of
duck tape but none as good as Susan E.
