Weather looks great, so far. Just enough rain and snow this winter to
make the trails beautiful with wild flowers & cactus in bloom. Maybe the
100 year old Peach Trees at Doyle Well, located in the middle of nowhere,
will be in bloom, as well.
Base Camp in Columbus has changed and improved. We will camp across from
our old base camp at the museum, new Base Camp is adjacent to and on the
west side of the Pancho Villa State park, on real dirt rather than
gravel. Bathrooms and showers are available for our use at the park,of
course, you can rent one of the 8 rooms at the Columbus Hotel, or at Ed
& Martha's Bed & Breakfast (all at reasonable rates). Ed & Martha are
providing our base Camp in Columbus.
Ivonne Romero, of the world famous La Tienda Rosa (rated one of the top
100 restaurants in the entire Southwest) in Palomas, Mexico is planning a
very special traditional Mexican dinner for us on Tuesday night (American
food is available for those who are faint of heart). A traditional
Mexican Band will be entertaining our tired sore spirits. Dinner is
$10.00 and includes three drinks (beer, etc. and sodas) Children are
$6.00 which includes three sodas. This is a must and makes the RENEGADE
the ONLY True International Multi-Day Ride.
At our Awards banquet in Lordsburg on Friday, Janaloo will be
entertaining us once again with her 1880's style vaudeville act.
Yes, the RENEGADE is Looking Good!
