IF you are using the POLAR based EHRM systems, from any mfg- shop
you need to be aware of a problem with the ROUND RECEIVER WATCH.

The POLAR MODELS are;
FAVOR
PACER
EDGE

The unit is held in a snap type watch band holder.
IF you knock the unit on a hard object, tree, rock, saddle, person, horse
(head), or drop it on the ground,

THE CASE MAY CRACK,

at that time the watch part MAY fall out. You may be lucky and find your
watch.

Then the watch may fall out LATER while riding.

END RESULT --you get to buy a new watch unit.

THE FIX-- FIX FIX

1. Remove the watch from the case-band-
rotate the watch until it is in line with the band.

2. Press on the back -- with thumbs through the hole in the back of the band
to snap out the watch part.

3. LOOK for cracks in the band. We have new ones CALL.

4. If it is NOT CRACKED.. (or even if it is you can repair it).
Use SILICON SEALER or SHOE GOOP.... not contact cement..

5. Put a small amount of sealer in the band or on the back edge of the watch.

6 SNAP the rec unit into the band..
Rotate the rec unitl the display is positioned as you like.

This will insure the rec watch will not pop out. If the band breaks, you
loose..

You can still get it out to replace the battery. Use silicon type only, else
the band and the back ring is destroyed.

It WILL NOT insure the band PINS will not come out.

You will not be able to rotate the display, but so what, you wont loose the
watch.

TO PROTECT the watch from 'things' wear the watch with the display on the
INSIDE of your wrist. Thats opposite from how your normaly wear a watch.

DO NOT WEAR THE REC on the SAME WRIST with AN ANALOG WATCH.. ONE WITH HANDS
AND A QUARTZ MOTOR.. TICK TICK TICK.

Monitor will READ 60 all the time when NOT riding and give bad reading when
on the horse.

I have known about all these problems, posted them once before, wrote about
some.

AFTER the convention, this stuff needs to be detailed again.

SO ---PRINT this off ---PASS it out at rides and give to anyone who uses an
EHRM, esp those who use the POLAR UNITS.

We at EPT dropped the above POLAR models. Our new V-MAX EHRMS are based on
other manufactures componets.
