This ride takes place only once per year during the month of August.
This year the dates are August 9th through 16th. We ride the trails of
Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. Our ride starts at the actual
"Hole-in-the-Wall" and concludes with a parade and rodeo in the town of
Thermopolis, Wyoming.
All meals are catered and your camp gear is transported by truck to each
camp. We have nightly entertainment in camp which is usually historical
in nature. Riders are responsible for their camp gear and horse. We
provide hay & grain for your horse.
This is not a ride for the timid. We travel over the Big Horn Mountains
and reach elevations up to 9000 feet. These are not well traveled
trails. Outside this ride, most are not traveled more than a handful of
times per year.
We are a non-profit organization and all profits are donated to
community organizations such as 4-H and FFA as well as museums and
historical societies. We are currently in the process of having a
marker errected at the site of the Hole-in-the-Wall fight. This is the
100th anniversary of the fight which took place on July 22nd.
The cost of the ride is $495.00 per person and we only take 100 riders.
