After setting off the last round of "helmet wars", I have been trying to
wear mine faithfully (I started after my fall from Thumper "tapped" my head
a little). My Lexington show jumping helmet was heavy and I really noticed
the weight over longer distances. I tried several of my friends' helmets
(Lexington Lid-locker and Troxel Sport helmet) but settled on the new Troxel
Legacy and like it a lot. The real trick seems to be getting the right fit.
Most come with the adjusting pads but that didn't mean that I could get the
helmet to fit well. The Legacy came with several sets of sizing pads and
was the lightest of all--as a result, I could finally get it to fit and
still be comfortable.
