Forgot to comment to Bonnie:

In my opinion, the sidepull is pretty easy on the horse. The rope
noses can rub, as I mentioned.

I think it's easier to teach a young horse to rein in a sidepull as
opposed to a vosel or bosel, it's almost like riding in a tight halter,
with just a tad more control.
