As AERC continues to grow - I think we should try to get veterinarian
students interested in the sport. This is important to ensure that
there will be knowledgeable Endurance veterinarians in the future -
after all they won't get rich by helping us at our rides.
One effort to accomplish this would be to offer a scholarship of sorts
by funding a couple of veterinarian students visit to the convention.
Most students are in debt enough to fund a house and can't come up with
the money to make the trek. I would encourage AERC funding the air
fare, lodging, and registration fee for some deserving students. The
selection could be me made by the Veterinarian committee (??).
To fund this, AERC could request a $1 donation on our annual membership
form or even ask for ride managers to make this request on entry forms.
Does anyone else think this idea to be worthwhile??
