While I agree that volunteers should not use the excuse that they
are unpaid to do a poor job, I still feel strongly that there is *no* excuse
for treating them rudely. If they had to be paid, the entry fees riders pay
would have to be phenomenal, and there would be damn few rides.
Remember, these folks are crawling out of bed and standing around in
the rain to help you competitiors have a good time. Give them some respect
for that.
Anyone who has ridden Gail's "Spur of the Moment" will know that I,
as head vet, will simply not tolerate abuse of my workers. (Abuse me at your
own risk.)

NO ONE should ever be treated rudely!!! No ONE!!! BUT, i have seen and had
plenty of occassion to REMIND a volunteer that their job is important and to
do it well or go home..after all, by letting a volunteer do a job, I (we) are
very often providing them with an education...for the same price we pay
them!!!
