Truman, I definitely agree with your thinking. While we look for and
get funding for the research, there is something else we can do NOW.

Absolutely loved reading Dane's Post. He effectivly stated the isuue
from a vet's point of view. To summazize what I read, it's a very
difficult subject scientifically, it's hard to write-up and we are
trying our best. (PLEASE correct me if I mistated your thinking, Dane).

The vet committee worked hard and long on a drug policy and they did
their best. Now some years later, we have some very real examples of
policy problems and have some concerns that need adressing.

Vet's are usually schooled in the sciences. They are not normally
trainined in or involved with drafting statutes or other legally binding
documents. They do not normally teach english for riders with DIMR.

So why can't average riders, and other interested parties, sit down with
the vet committee and hammer-out WORDS that can give true meaning to the
AERC approved intent?

Dane, how about it? Care to chair an informal discussion group at
convention? Is a formal review of the AERC drug rule possible? If so,
can riders and others get involved?

Thanks for Your Time and Happy Holidays.
