Last month you mentioned that you use infrared thermography to detect
inflammation. I know very little about this process. However, am I
correct in my assumption that these machines can detect the inflammation
much better than ultra sound? They can detect inflammation in any tissue,
not just tendons, correct?
I'm very interested in this. I just had ultra-sound done on my mare mid
Nov. I knew there was inflammation in her left fore, just below and behind
the knee. However, the ultra-sound tech., here at CSU, said she would not
have detected inflammation on the ultra-sound if I had not told them it was
there. Currently, these shots are being passed around at the Equine Vet
Convention in Denver by a Vet friend of mine who is attending. (She had
not seen these shots yet, but says sometimes she can see more in them than
the CSU hospital).
Anyway, I'd like to find out if anyone here at CSU has one of those
infrared machines you talk about. Can you give me brand names, and models
of these things? Then, I can look them up on our property records to see
who's got one.
Did you get your new one bought yet?
