Right, and you have to be careful not to try to get it done all at once
(muscle/ligament soreness). We use accelerations for this purpose in SB
trotters (same as Fartlek). But before we try that kind of work, we ensure
that the shoeing is balanced and he's not hitting--some line gaited trotters
never learn the move--these had better have long barrels, or they're useless
as racehorses.
