I can't see how this can be. I can see that you might change the path that the
hoof takes through the air (say steep to start and shallow on landing or vice a
versa) but not the length of the stride. If this were the case then if we
shorten the stride in front and lengthen at the back the horses back end would
soon pass the front end. If we did the reverse the horse would turn into an
equine version of a daschund.
So what really happens?
