I have a Polar Pacer-belt type HRM and I couldn't be happier with it. I
really enjoy being able to read a heartrate with or without the saddle. On
one occasion when I had a horse who was not recovering well it was a godsend.
I took all the tack off to let the beastie relax, left the belt on and put
the reciever around the belt. All I had to to was glance at it to know where
we stood. When the monitor is on correctly one corner tucks under my cinch
which tends to keep a good contact with the horse. I get very consistant
readings with it. Hope this helps
