The watch is a reciever that recives the transmitted pulses and processes
them (simple counter) to display a reading. Like any receiver interference
can be a problem. If you are near overhead (even some underground power
lines can be a problem) power lines or phone lines you can get reading that
are harmonics of 60 cycle. The 237 reading is a candidate (60 cycle power
usually is really 60 cycle). So if you are riding in a new place then
check out the area before you blame the HRM.
