Hi all,
This is very late as I have been too busy to check my messages
lately, but I just had to add to the comments regarding Arab/Quarter crosses.
I had the lucky opportunity to be an outrider for the World Championship
Endurance race here in Manhattan, KS. I nearly freaked when I thought I
would not be able to ride my horse due to an injury until a very good
friend offered to loan me "Charlie" a 1/2 Arab 1/2 Quarter.
I had THE MOST FUN!!! He is 19 years old, thought he was
supposed to be entered in the race, (at the end of our ride my hands and
arms were burning from holding him back), and the best part was I heard
comments all day long literally nonstop about what a gorgeous horse I was
riding - what is he??? In fact as one of the Brazilian team members rode
by his mouth dropped and he yelled at me - "I love your horse!", and he
continued to stare as he cantered away. I could only grin from ear to
ear as my two companions shook their heads.
I know "Charlie" to have excellent manners and his owner has
retired from showing him dressage to a lesson horse. I look forward to
having the opportunity to ride him again!
