IF the HR is 'off' on the HRM when you check the pulse with a stethoscope
sp... you need to take it for a full minute.. not 15 sec or 30 sec .. you can
be off by 4 or 8 beats.. depending on how one counts the begin and end
pulse.. the monitor display is for one full minute..
no the monitors cannot be 'calibrated' they either work i.e show the correct
pulse or dont work at all..
in the event you believe the pulse to be 'off' get a scope and listen, then
watch the heart icon flash.. they should match one for one..
now if you horse has an irregular pulse.. skip or add a beat the monitor may
NOT follow that...
