I was at the closing ceremonies and saw no evidence whatsoever of any media
there at all! I heard from a local that the Topeka news had the opening
ceremonies on TV and it was very good.
I think Steph or Mike may know for sure if there was any coverage.

steph and i were with the press group at the closing and while there
were a lot of videocams in sight - all the people i talked to were
covering only for their newspapers. it is still possible that there
was coverage but i didn't see any evidence of it. it would be much
harder to get the "on trail" stuff that was so good in the 94 games.
just watched the tape of that last week courtesy of steph. the last
gallop on the concrete is something one only does if you have to -
and it looked like val did have to. the part of the video on
shirley delsart finishing was especially good.
