Dear Bambi:

Your long-term recovery plan for "Bones" should include muscle
manipulation and stretching. FULL MUSCLE FUNCTION WILL NOT NORMALLY
RETURN AUTONOMICALLY.

Nature does has a wonderful way of helping mammals recover from such
trauma. Unfortunately this natural healing does not always lead to
maximal performance potential. So, if you truly want athletic ability
(e.g. endurance) then more of your time and energy will be needed.

Specifically, DAILY message and stretching sessions are a must. Winter
is the most difficult time for such work as the muscle fibres should be
warm before stretching and range-of-motion exercises begin. If a light
physical warm-up session is not possible, use double rugs, magnetic
blankets or space heaters before therapy.

Finally, there are many good texts on stretching (e.g. Nancy Spencer)
and muscle work (e.g. "Beating Muscle Injuries") do your homework and
find a local mentor before you implement a program.

Good luck.
