If you want to promote your 100 miler in the Mountain Region, your better
get to know the Mountain Region Folks. I'm one.
Mountain Region Endurance Riders (MRER) is our regional organization. We
are separate from AERC, but we use their regional boundry and recognize
only AERC sanctioned rides. It really helps to network in this region if
you want people to come to a ride as far away from the large population
base as you are.
Our MRER convention is March 1, 1997, here in Fort Collins, CO. Our guest
speakers this year are Erin McChesney, 2x Winner of the Tevis and Hagan
Cup; Jack Evers, USET Farrier; and Holly Ulyate, teaching the basics of
endurance riding. Erin will also give a riding clinic on March 2. In
addition, there will be a meeting of the regional ride managers to address
concerns and to try and plan the 1998 calendar ahead of time so that the
regional ride schedule helps the ride managers instead of having rides
competing for the same customers due to tight scheduling.
This past year, in the Mountain Region, there were lots of rides. The 1997
calender is even fuller. We want new rides and encourage new ride
managers. However, we want to keep established rides in business. So,
scheduling and networking is key to this success.
Let me know if you would like more information on the convention. We would
love to get to know you!

Vice President, MRER
