If you are not using your stallion for breeding purposes, he would be much
happier as a gelding. Many people geld stallions as 6,7 or even 10 year olds
and have no problem. It does take awhile for all the male hormones to leave
their system. Your horse will perform much better as a trail horse as a
gelding as he will be able to concentrate on other things besides mares. Good
