generators and power devices

Thanks for all of the responses to my question about generators. Got
some more questions.
Options seem to be:
Get two batteries. Will provide power for 3 days+
Get a solar trickle charger. Question, are there different types,
how long do they take to charge and cost?
Get a portable generator. Question, what size. I have heard many
different ideas on this one. there is a camping model, cute and
light, but can it do anything other than charge the battery and how
long does it take. The generator option is the for sure guarentee of
power, but the noise and time running a definate downer.
