To the last I can say yes with qualifications, the study was done at 
Cornell, and they used regular plain vinegasr not cider vinegar. They put 
stones into ponies, fed them measured amounts of vinegar, took the stones 
out and measured the decrease in size. It was a small study ( I think the 
numbers were 10 animals or so) but very conclusive given the controls 
they had in place. I'm at a client site (waiting on a network problem) 
and so I can't give you the actual refernce where the results were 
published but perhaps someone else can.
