Do you have any information on the differences between humans and
horses in the cooling mechanisims. The temperature plus humidity sum seems
to be a poor indicator of hazzard as the humidity in humans any way is much
more important. Once the ambient temperature approaches the internal
temperature only evaporative cooling is available and in high humidity it is
limited. Do horses have a greater resperatory evaporative capacity per body
weight than humans? If so, they may be less effected by humidity than
humans. This could be a big problem in Kansas this year.
