Hi Raina:

I asked this question myself a few weeks ago. I got a lot of responses.
Here are a few things people recommended:

baby oil
goo
dishwashing detergent
Absorbine linament
degreaser (simple green, etc.)
metal curry comb & elbow grease

Did I miss anything?
