Has anybody out there in the Pacific Northwest heard of these things? I
am told by my farrier that they are sometimes used at race tracks up in
that area because they don't require nails which compromise the integrity
of the hoofwall and allow moisture (relevant in such a damp climate) to
get in.
He tells me that it is a polyurathane compound that is brushed on to the
rim of the hoof (in the same place there would be a horseshoe) and then
allowed to dry.
ANy information about this (from anybody, not just those in the PNW)
would be appreciated.
