It seems several people have expressed interest in Arabians. Here are
some books. One (The Classic Arabian Horse) is widely available and
has a good intro to how/where Arabians came from. Others are harder
to get. Hopefully this will clear up some of the
confusions/contradictions I have read.

(Note: The Polish and Russian Studs used MANY Crabbet horses as foundations
along with their own native mares and imported stock, thus they
may also be considered "Crabbet" related. The Royal Egyptian Stud
imported over 19 horses from Crabbet in the early 1900s.
Some "straight" Egyptians have significant % Crabbet blood also.
Thus, just about EVERY Arabian you meet EXCEPT the PURE Davenports
and a very few rare Al Khamsa horses have Crabbet blood of some
amount.

Authentic Arabian Bloodstock by Judith Forbis
(much more detail and focuses on Egyptians with lots of pictures,
and race results )
