The trails were VERY WELL marked! The scenery was gorgeous, the
weather was perfect...on the "cool" side and the vets were great!!
What more could one ask for?! The other part that was great, was all
the people. Everyone was so nice and friendly!! Other riders, vets
and all the volunteers. The "camp facilities" were nice. There is a
gorgeous creek running through the middle of camp! And the dinner
was excellent (BBQ chicken, corn on the cob, beans, garlic bread,
salad and WINE!!). At the end of the 25, you go down into the creek
for a while, and that was really pretty. I'm sure it felt good on
the horses feet and legs, too!
Cherokee scored mostly A's, and a few B's and we finished with an
overall impression of a B+. So, I'm happy.
Thanks to all the riders, for making it such a great ride...and
especially to Lari Shea and all the volunteers!! It was GREAT!
I also had fun "camping" with fellow netters, Karen, Carol and
Lindsey! And we met Kimberly...another "net" face!! I admired her
for pulling her horse and walking all the way back to camp! This was
Lindsey's first ride--congratulations Lindsey!! And this was Karen's
first ride, with her "new" horse Chancey. I've decided I'm going to
starting "renting" time on my HRM to Carol!!! They sure do come in
handy at the vet checks.
