I have a question for you.
There is a vet down here in Southern California who is recommending that the
horse owners not leave salt blocks for their horses. He feels that the horses
get enough salt in their feed ie. hay. Now I can possibly understand this
because a lot of these horses are left to themselves with little or no
exercise and bored to distraction therefore eating the whole salt block in a
short time. But he also recommends this for riders who are out all day on
long rides in high heat. This Monday it hit 108 degrees in the valley.
? Is there some new information that I am unaware of?
Also if someone has the formula for the homemade version of electrolytes I
can't find mine (put it in a safe place and don't know where it's at) I think
it's equal parts,
Dolimite, table salt, and lite salt.
Please E-mail me with any new info I'm concerned for some of these horses.
