All in all, it was a success! I did drink more (thanks Samm) -
emptied the equivalent of 3 sports bottles where I might have only
drunk one. I'm not the most coordinated person - at a gallop, I
usually choke on the sports bottles. I was able to sip to my heart's
content w/ the Camelbak. The only draw back I could see was pit
stops in the bushes when my riding partners were 2 men. Oh well. It
was slightly warm w/ the pack on my back until I started soaking the
pack with water bottle periodically.
My horse has learned to drink from a water bottle. I may continue
to carry it to "spritz" him periodically as well as rinse out his mouth after
on-trail electrolytes!
Another great success from the great "trial trip" to the mountains. I
wish the new saddle had come for the trip instead of this week. I
wanted to work out the bugs before some of the rides come up for us.
I know what I'll be doing this weekend!
