For those of you who are good at this...I'm not *:) I have a chemistry
question.
I'm the one with the really skinny arab mare, who's diet I was ironing
out. I think I've finally got it straightened out, and she's gaining
weight nicely. But now I have another question... She's getting 2 cups
of corn oil a day. I've been told by several people that this is not too
much, especially for a horse like her. I know that with that oil I need
to make sure that she's getting enough (but not too much) vitamin E and
Selenium, to lessen chances of tying up. She's getting Northwest
Supplement. I live in Oregon, and our soil is very low in Selenium,
this is a supplement created specifically for this area. I'm wondering if
she should be getting a double dose of this? Will that be enough/too much
selenium & vit. E??
Here are the specs off the bag--
1 four ounce measure has:
Vitamin E 600IU
Selenium (0.0017%) 8mg
If the other stuff in it is important, I can post that. I've been told
this is a very good supplement for endurance horses.
Thanks!
