Hi Susan,

Russ passed your query along to the Endurance list.

I'd find out who hauls away dead animals in your area.
Veterinarians and stable owners should know. Here it
is the San Jose Tallow Company.

Call and ask if you can get some mane and tail hair
from recently deceased equines. You might have to buy
it as the hauler may resell it for sofa stuffing or
whatever.

Otherwise, I suppose you could just pick hair off all
the barbed wire fences in the county, but it would take
a long time to get enough to spin! :-)

Posting notes at local stables and tack shops might
help, too, depending on how much time you have before
the class. I think calling the dead animal remover is
the best bet.

Good luck to your friend with her class. Sounds interesting!
