I also have to come out in defense of the TB's. I have
owned both Arabs and TB's and love both. When it
comes down to it though, my little TB was the best
distance horse I'd ever want to ride. BIG walk and
flotting
trot which often carried her to the front of the pack. Great
recoveries. Now at 28 she is still sound and continues to
be lightly ridden. She has only had one injury in her life - a
puncture wound which occurred on the trail - otherwise
she is clean as a whistle. She is TOUGH!
I retired her from the mountain trails when she was around
23-24 because I found her recoveries were not as good,
but she's still hell bent to "go down the trail" as soon as
you're in the saddle.
I wish I knew how many miles I had on her now. About
10 of those years I'm sure we averaged 100-120 miles a
week just trail riding.
Three cheers for old those tough old TB's!
..Now the Arab was another story ... some say his walk
feels like a cross between a llama and a camel... :)

flying off to see more snow in MI today. Aghhhh....
