[endurance] What to carry/First Aid?

I really appreciate this thread and am glad to see I have collected most of
the essentials. I too carry my needede items in a fanny pack on me and
everything for the horse or nonessential on Graham.

Here's another question - how many people carry first aid kits and has
anyone tried one of the commercially offered kits made to go in your saddle
bags? If you've tried the commercial one, is it smartly put together or
filled with junk? I currently carry some first aid supplies but the kits
look convenient.

Just recently some endurance acquantances of mine experienced a traumatic
experience with a rider falling and being unconscious miles and miles from
anywhere. One rider stayed with the fallen and one went for help and the
fallen was helicoptered out. She is FINE thank goodness.

This hit home on how important some of these items may be.
