All this talk about what to eat. We run a 100 mile ride and run in
Vermont with over 250 runners on the trail with us. They should know!
The night before is carbo load with pasta (every way you can have it)
salad ?? beer and ice cream. sound good?? On the ride/run there are
stations where we riders get the benefit of goodies. Everything from
pastries, pies, more ice cream, pasta, and of course, power bars. As
night falls one can even get a cup of coffee or a shot of vodka. If
they can keep running, I can keep riding.
Clipping in Vermont is almost a must if you want to start early. I
have clipped from Fall to Spring with no problems. Worst part of a
Fall clip is that they do not really grow a coat back. Feb/March
clips are history by May. I always leave the top hair over the neck,
back and rump to shed rain.
