I recently had an experience that I can't figure out. I have a horse that
ran a 50 on Sat. Tues. I noticed he was away from the other horses, but
didn't really think much of it. The next day, I saw him standing apart
again, so I got him out. He was panting, and as I suspected running a temp.
(105) I called the Vet. He checked him out and could find nothing. He drew
blood which turned up nothing as well. His only explanation was that the
horse might have had an increased temp in order to fight off a bug.
Has anyone experienced a similar illness?
He always ate, and besides panting and apparently wanting to be "Left alone"
by the other horses, he seemed perfectly normal.
