We are just finishing a new barn and have hard wired smoke detectors
connected to dialers. The alarm company claims that they can be adjusted
to not react to dust. We also put in a dry sprinkler system. Since the
barn is not heated a wet system would probably freeze. A dry system
carries pressurized air in the pipes until the seals pop. When the seals
are melted the air escapes and is replaced by water.
