********************************************************************
* *
* ANNOUNCING - A new service for the endurance riding community *
* *
* an interactive endurance ride calendar *
* *
* ********************** *
* *
* For the fun and benefit of the endurance riding community *
* worldwide - as a way to tie all of us together in all the *
* aspects of endurance riding. We would appreciate comments and *
* suggestions - as well as corrections for typos. *
* This service is in no way intended to compete with the only *
* official publication for the AERC - the Endurance News. *
* *
* ********************** *
* *
* This new calendar is updated with each issue of the *
* "Endurance News", and presents the ride calendars in a true *
* web-oriented manner. *
* *
* Here's what you can get with the new calendar: *
* * "standard" ride calendars for 1995 and 1996 for: *
* * the USA, Canada, and North America, *
* * for each AERC region *
* * a "custom" calendar - looks just like the standard *
* calendars, but has rides that you specify by: *
* * region, *
* * sanctioning body, *
* * state, *
* * date range *
* * a "personalized" ride calendar. This is a calendar that *
* has exactly and only the rides you request. It has all *
* the information (instead of links), so you can make your *
* own copy for (for instance), your ride campaign for the *
* season. *
* *
* The benefit to you is faster access to the rides that are of *
* interest to you. - no more wading through columns looking for *
* the rides in your region or state. *
* *
* The listing can also contain an additional description of *
* the ride which can help build attendance or tell the riders *
* some additional information about the ride that for space *
* reasons - could not appear in the EN listing. The following *
* is an example (for the Animal House ride in WA): *
* *
* 06:30 *
* The first ride of the Columbia river circuit. Our ride is *
* located in Central Washington, about 10 miles south of I-90. *
* The terrain and moderate weather should make for a great early *
* ride. *
* *
* Request #1: *
* RIDE MANAGERS: PLEASE send further information about your *
* rides to: russ@doublejoy.com *
* Information desired: *
* * an (up to 200 character) promotional blurb about *
* your ride. (this would appear where you now see *
* the ride start time. *
* * whatever info you want to put out for directions *
* (no limit on the amount of information here) *
* * whatever other information you want to share about *
* your ride. This can be pretty much any thing that *
* can appear in a web page - pictures, maps, logos, *
* text, whatever. *
* Request #2: *
* Non AERC ride managers: The calendar has plenty of room *
* for your rides too! - Just send me email with the info *
* you want publicized for your ride(s) (russ@doublejoy.com) *
* Request #3: *
* Ride managers in other countries: There is room in the *
* calendar for rides in your countries too!. Why not?? *
* Send me the info via email to: russ@doublejoy.com *
* *
* Thanks to Mike Maul for guidance & help, *
* to Kelly Sale @ fsr.com for his patient assistance *
* and to Stephanie Teeter for the *gift* of a forum for this *
* project *
