The Scotts Flat is a wonderful ride, but be prepared for ANY kind of
weather -- rain, cold, hot, you name it! This ride is generally
regarded as one of the more difficult. It is early in the season for
Northern CA and is used by many who intend to ride the Tevis as an
early test of their readiness.
I have ridden my Saddlebred/Anglo/Arab, Paki, in the 25, but was pulled
early --went too fast and it was up hill to the first vet check. Also
did the 50 another year on Paki and completed. There's lots of up and
down terrain to cross, very challenging. The campground is beside the
Scotts Flat Reservoir and is very beautiful.
If you have more specific Q's, let me know.
Have fun and Good Luck! I might see you there! /Natalie
