Like Diane Nelson, we too have an Arndt FRP trailer. We bought it four years ago -- 2 horse slant, with ramp, rear tack and front tack, complete living quarters -- 27 feet overall -- and we love it.

We find hauling with the gooseneck much easier than hauling a tag-along -- once we got used to the wide turns and stopped taking out mail boxes and fence posts! And the horses ride very easily in the slant, and seem to really like it.

One warning, however: it takes a BIG truck to haul it. We lost transmissions and brakes in our F-250 4-wheel drive 460 engine, so a year ago broke down and bought an F-700 (looks like a dump truck). On a good day, it gets 9 miles to the gallon. On the positive side, it takes regular gas (not high test) :-)

After buying the truck, we began to deal with the law of unintended consequences -- like the bed of the truck was too high for the gooseneck (which we solved by raising the trailer, which solved another problem of low clearance that once took out the sewage pipe) -- but that meant the ramp was too steep, so we have blocks to go under it now -- and the hatches and latches were too high for me to reach -- so we had Arndt-Collins add steps, handgrips, etc. so I could climb up and hold on.

One great thing about FRP -- you can add stuff anywhere you want. And Arndt-Collins are great about working with you to make everything just the way you want it. Wešve found them to be very flexible and helpful.

Hope this helps.
