Regarding your problem with the disentegrating noseband, you may want
to call Marilyn Horstmyer (of DeSoto Saddles). She has re-worked the
noseband using biothane for the connecting strap. It's sort of hard to
explain, but if you like that type of hack, it's worth a call

My horse also likes the Sleister hack, with a loose chain (I converted
it to an english type flat chain so that it easily adjustable).
