[endurance] Vosal?

I want to switch to a hackamore type bridle, but the only mechanical
hackamores I can find have very long shanks. But, a sidepull is not
enough control.

Can anyone tell me how a Vosal works? How much control does it give?
The reins attach at one point like a bosal.
