I, too, have had my share of spills...mostly because the horse made a bad
step or wasn't paying attention. Even though for 20 years I never wore a
helmet unless I had to (was required to) I have NEVER been hurt. I attribute
this to excellent riding skills from an excellent background and my own
athletic ability developed through years of gymnastics. Some things are born
to us, some must be learned.

Just remember, if you want to be a great banjo player you must play the banjo
all the time. Good riders (or any endeavor) do not just "happen", nor are
they born...they are developed over many years of trail and error and MUCH
time in the saddle.
