Well, our horses LOVE it. They will eat it in preference to their
hard feed or hay or grass. We also feed it to try an increase
their water intake, as they don't seem to want to drink in the
cold weather. We soak the beet for at least 12 hrs first, and
normally make up a few days worth at a time. They get a small bucket
full of very dilute sugar beet, made up with some warm water every
morning. Yes, they do prefer it warm. After draggin myself out of bed
at 6am, on dark freezing cold mornings, before my breakfast I cycle
the couple of miles to the stables, and put the kettle on - for them!
The things we do for our horses:-)
